Orofacial Myofunctional Therapy (OMT) is a series of neurological re-education exercises used to treat incorrect patters of muscles and functions    associated with breathing, chewing and swallowing.


What are myofunctional disorders?

Orofacial Myofunctional Disorders (OMDs) are disorders of the muscles and functions of the face, neck and mouth. OMDs may directly, or indirectly, affect: Sleep apnea, breathing, chewing, swallowing, breastfeeding, facial skeletal growth and development, stability of orthodontics, posture, and more.


Does Insurance cover this therapy?

Unfortunately, insurance does not cover this treatment modality. We accept cash, check, Venmo, as well as FSA and HSA cards


What are symptoms of a tongue- tie?

There is a wide range of symptoms associated with a tongue-tie. People who are tongue-tied are often mouth breathers and have a low resting tongue posture. Other symptoms may include, chronic jaw pain, clenching and grinding, sleep apnea, orthodontic issues and improper facial development.


What is a functional frenectomy( tongue-tie release)?

This is a minor surgical procedure to release the frenum to give the tongue full range of motion and correct muscle function.
